An excellent way to continue the Buffy series, the Buffy Season 8 graphic novels continue where the show left off. The art is amazing; though they don't necessarily always look like the characters they're suppose to be, the essence of them is there. The writing is the same witty writing that you've come to know and love from the TV show. A must for all Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans!

Great comicbook and a great online store!

I arrived late to the comic book world of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, but as they say "Better late than never", right? I love the addition to the series. As much as I would have loved the series to continue on T.V. the comic book format conveys the story equally as well and in a much more portable format. I'm not as young as I was watching the show in high school, so it's nice in my busy life to be able to carry Buffy with me.

As far as the story is concerned it's great to see how the Army of Slayers has evolved. Also the development of Buffy, Willow, and Xander as Team leading adults is awesome. I often feel stories about high school students end up dying all too abruptly once the characters make it through college. It's great to see our fictional favorites on the mature side of life.

    ***Slight spoiler alert***

The whole Dawn as a giantess thing was a bit strange at first. It was comical, but I think they drew it out way too long. She was over-sized for 16 comics. Funny at first, but by the time she was waltzing through Japan I was very much over it.

I also enjoyed the exploration of the "Multiple Buffy's" around the world. It's so cool that they thought to create decoys because you know the big bads of the world would be after grand leader Buffy every minute of every day (nothing new really.) The complexities of this comic amaze and entertain. I will continue to read as long as they are published.

There couldn't have been a better season eight made by Whedon and his crew. I really love it and it gives me the same Buffy-feeling as there were in the TV-series.

  • Apr 15, 2009 Mary from England

I thought this was a perfect medium for a Season 8. It was nice to get back together with the characters of the Buffyverse! I like the storyline that's being developed and, of course, Joss' writing is wonderful as usual.

Absolutely wonderful to have the perfect start to Season 8 in one location. I even got my girlfriend to read it!

  • Dec 05, 2007 Robert from Wisconsin

Season 8 starts off in a very interesting way. All of the characters return. Can't wait to see where it goes.

  • Dec 05, 2007 Drew from Maryland

I am a Buffy enthusiast, but I confess that a few years since I watched the show/DVDs has dulled my memory. The TPB was great (writing, art, plot) the second time -- I struggled with characters and references the first time through. For Buffy enthusiasts, though, great stuff.

  • Dec 01, 2007 Kamisha from United States

    Absolutely amazing.

  • Dec 01, 2007 Kelly from Rough and Ready, CA

Finally Joss Whedon returns to the land of Buffy comics. "The Long Way Home" is a wonderful mix of humor, action, horror - pretty much everything you expect from an episode of Buffy.

Joss Whedon gives us another reason to fall in love all over again with everyone's favorite blond slayer. Here's hoping this is only the beginning of a long run of the newly revamped Buffy comic.

  • Nov 30, 2007 Elizabeth from Tarzana, CA

This TPB brings season 8 with a bang- the Slayerettes have gone international!

  • Nov 30, 2007 Lisa from ohio

  • Nov 30, 2007 Katherine from Australia

New to graphic novels, but always been a Buffy fan, so I thought it was great having the first few season 8 installments in one book.

  • Nov 30, 2007 Xandri from Florida

This was an absolutely amazing comic! the art mimicked the actors so well, and the story is purely Joss Whedon. I can't wait for the next one!

  • Nov 30, 2007 Juan from California

I thought it was a great collection put together!! I also bought the comics seperately, but I thought having them all together would make more sense to keep on reading for the first arc all together. The characters are still the same as the TV show. I love it. I recommend this!

  • Nov 29, 2007 Catriona from NJ

As usual Joss has made the 1337 happy in their nerdy heaven. Praise the Joss! *bows down* for he brings us happy Buffy dreams of happiness. I intend to get a framed version.

  • Nov 29, 2007 Heather from New York

Joss Whedon, as always, is simply a genius with more and more surprises in store in season 8! There are as many new faces as one would expect with so many new slayers running about, but some old ones pop up around every corner!

Great compilation, over all, and definitely more sturdy than the comics in this new graphic novel form (plus you don't have to give up the nifty covers; they're inserted appropriately). The one thing I'd change? Don't add comic 5 in the mix; it didn't exactly fit in with 1-4.

  • Nov 29, 2007 Joe from Kalamazoo, MI

I wasn't very impressed with the first couple issues of this book. It was cool to see what happened after the finale of the Buffy TV series, but the comics weren't off to a great start.

However, in the third issue, things start to pick up, and the fourth sets the tone for what these comics are going to be. The fifth issue is absolutely amazing. It's a story that they really could not have told in the television series as well.

  • Nov 28, 2007 Leslie from Texas

    Loved it.

  • Nov 27, 2007 Peter from Canada

Loved it. Any fan of Buffy should have this. 5 "episodes" with no commercials!

  • Nov 27, 2007 Bjorn from Langemark (Belgium)

Great follow-up to the fantastic show that has entertained us for 7 seasons.

This TPB collects the first five issues. That's cool for us foreigners. Its cheaper to transport and it looks a lot nicer that a regular comic. I'm eagerly awaiting the next one.

  • Nov 27, 2007 Ciro from Napoli (Italy)

    Only a word: FANTASTIC!

  • Nov 27, 2007 Amy from Worthing, UK

Excellent continuation from where the TV show left off.

  • Nov 22, 2007 Mindy from USA

Really great to have the series in one book. Finally got my girlfriend to read Season 8 and now she's hooked like me. Also, JO CHEN ROCKS!

  • Nov 13, 2007 Seth Thornberry from Plano, Tx

The new series is off to a great start - It is good to see Buffy et al together again!

I love having five issues in one! It a non-stop thrill ride!
