| What really suprises me about these comics, is that the characters remain true. I was truly upset for Xander in this storyline. The story is just as rich, if not richer than the series, and I am compelled and excited to watch it evolve. |

Totally grieved for Zander. Will he ever catch a break? I mean, really. |
 |
Jun 10, 2008 - Patti from Vermont: |
| I'm really loving season 8. The writing and artistry draw one back into the story so well. This one's a heartbreaker, though. |
 |
Jun 10, 2008 - jocelyn from Philadelphia: |
| Any lover of Buffy will love this comic. Episode 14, Season 8 is especially good in it's conclusion to Wolves at the Gate, and it's continual weaving of relational storylines that feed our love for the characters Joss so lovingly created. |
 |

 |
Jun 09, 2008 - Robin from Temecula: |
| I was lucky this month and got the variant cover. I love Buffy and the comics keep her alive. Yay for this episode since they didn't have her in bed with another girl. |
 |
Jun 09, 2008 - Joe from Moorestown, NJ: |
| While Buffy's in a relationship that seems forced - considering the disappointment of Tara dying in the TV series - the series is otherwise carrying on very well in comic form. Wolves at the Gate brings back some great characters, plays off their personalities well, and keeps the action moving. |
 |
Jun 09, 2008 - Phillip from Yukon, OK: |

Jun 09, 2008 - Trina from Atlanta, GA: |
| A good comic, moved the story along. But nowhere near the best of Season 8. |
 |
Jun 08, 2008 - Jessica from Rochester, NY: |
| Love love LOVE the season 8 comics. All the best elements of the show -- the often crazy, sometimes tragic plot twists, the complex characters and of course, the amazing dialogue -- carry over to the page seamlessly. You can hear the voice of every character as well as if you had the DVD in. Plus, Dawn's still a giant! |

| This is not a one star comic! Joss and all have made so many of us fans happy. Thank You! Also, big thanks to TFAW.com, you all make the magic happen for me. Most of all I want to thank my real bud, TARA, who gave me The Chain and the first issue of the Faith story. Priceless!
Aloha! |

I have STRONG criticisms of this series. I have felt cheated from the moment George Jeanty's pencils began making a mockery of my favorite characters. I have serious issues (pun intended) with the Looney Tunes rendering of Buffy, Scoobies, et al.
If Joss has full control over this series and wants us to be as involved with the characters as we were during the series, why does he allow them to be rendered in Tweety Bird proportions? Then there's the story line...
SPOILER ALERT!
I don't like the Dracula tie in. I don't buy the odd friendship between Big D and Xander "No More Butt Monkey" Harris. It has rung false at every turn ("This is good tea, Master." PUH-leeze!)
The only thing that Renee's death has is shock value. It doesn't strike an emotional chord like Fred's death because we never knew her well enough. It can't drive the story forward like Tara's death because they were in a battle situation where a death could have happened anyway. It did nothing but give us a spectacular closing panel. Unfortunately, we don't care. In fact, my only initial reaction to it was--there's Joss, going for the hurt AGAIN.
To underscore how bad I think this series has become, I received my Angel #7 and Buffy Omnibus #4 at the same time. They served as a stark contrast by showing how well done a graphic novel can be. |

 |
May 10, 2008 - Rich L. from New Haven, CT: |
| Another excellent issue of Buffy. Too bad we gotta wait a month for the next cause I hear it's supposed to be another good one. |
 |
May 08, 2008 - Rich L. from New Haven, CT: |
| This one gets 6 stars cause it's setting the 4th act up in just 12 hours (and a month) till the next issue. WAR!!!
Buffy has changed. Anybody else notice it? Not just the Sat6su stuff, I mean she's getting to be almost as dark as Angel, without all the brooding. No wait, not Angel, Giles, yea, he was always the one to kill whenever necessary either human or demon. Perhaps Buffy is truly becoming the leader he envisioned.
Can't wait to read Angel number 7 too.
I don't know, perhaps I am bias, but I really believe Buffy is the best comic out there and yes folks I do read more than just Buffy, lots of em, yet Buffy ranks above them all. ciao |
