The word for devil or demon in Japan, Oni, may be the namesake for Oni Press, but this independent, Portland-based publisher is considered a gift from heaven by its many dedicated fans. Since 1997, Oni Press has produced an extremely diverse selection of comic books, graphic novels, and novels for a range of audiences. Eisner Award-winning titles like Queen & Country and Whiteout: Melt are available alongside such pop-culture sensations as Tek Jansen, a character culled from The Colbert Report.
