I have often been disappointed by novels based on Comic books. The Writing almost never meshes with the style of art and tone, or the writer adds details that do not mesh with the characters we love.

Tom Piccirilli does Aces in this book. He perfectly describes the swamps of the South and add a perfect layer of creepiness to the entire surrounding. Hellboy is Hellboy, and the background characters fit perfectly in the Hellboy Universe. I enjoyed this book as much as reading the comics, and that it high praise.
