Hellboy comes to the crossroads in Enigma, Georgia, a small town plagued by strange occurrences. Sent to keep an eye on Sarah Nail, a young girl hiding from the curse of her family, Hellboy becomes entangled in the blood debt of evil mystical preacher, Brother Jester. Stuck between human malice and the mysteries of the occult, Hellboy comes up against an intrigue of ghosts, demon trees, talking bullfrogs, and a race of lost mutant children.
* The release of Emerald Hell is timed to take advantage of the excitement for the second Hellboy movie.
I have often been disappointed by novels based on Comic books.
The Writing almost never meshes with the style of art and tone, or the writer adds details that do not mesh with the characters we love.
Tom Piccirilli does Aces in this book.
He perfectly describes the swamps of the South and add a perfect layer of creepiness to the entire surrounding.
Hellboy is Hellboy, and the background characters fit perfectly in the Hellboy Universe.
I enjoyed this book as much as reading the comics, and that it high praise.
