The second hardcover collection of IDW's smash-hit Angel: After the Fall series plotted by Joss Whedon and Brian Lynch, scripted by Lynch, and this time featuring an array of talented artists.

'First Night' begins! What happened on the very night Los Angeles went straight to hell, the incident that ended the Angel television series with such a shocking cliffhanger? Why did the team go their separate ways? And how did Connor rise up to become one of Hell's greatest champions?

Collecting Angel: After the Fall #6-8, John Byrne, David Messina, Nick Runge, and many other artists contribute the multiple tales in this hardcover volume.

I was less than impressed with this one. It is a lot thinner than vol 1, and does not move the story forward at all. This volume gives the stories of what happened to the protagonists on the first night in hell.

While this is interesting, and the varied art is fun to look at, it left me going "Yeah, okay... What now?" There was really very little that I hadn't learned from the first volume. I think this would be a great volume to buy later, or it would have been good with some actual story progression.
