When ancient giants begin to reawaken in the British Isles, Hellboy is invited to join an ancient band of fellow monster hunters called the Wild Hunt and help bring them down. But an unexpected betrayal sends Hellboy after a quarry far more deadly: the Queen of Blood, first seen in 2007's best-selling Hellboy: Darkness Calls. This newly reborn evil has her murderous sights set on all of humanity, and the only way Hellboy can stop her is to finally confront the truth about his own dark heritage.

* Mignola reunites with artist Duncan Fegredo for the eagerly anticipated follow-up to Hellboy: Darkness Calls.

* Hellboy: The Wild Hunt collects the entire eight-issue miniseries, along with an extensive sketchbook section from both artists.

* A New York Times bestseller!

I cannot praise this book highly enough. A great combination of Celtic and Authurian legends in this book. Plus a more revelations about Hellboy and his "destiny" as well as his past. Very cool new creature designs and monsters in this arc as well. I love Hellboy, but this is the first one I didn't wait a day to reread; I got to the end and flipped right back to the first issue again. Great stuff. I generally wait for the TPB because Mignola usually includes epilogues not found in the single issues. But this book didn't have them, but it is eight issues of story, so I can't complain too much.

Mike Mignola is a genius. He blends mythology perfectly in Hellboy and he makes it relevant. I have enjoyed few other comics as much as I enjoy Hellboy. As for this Volume, it is a great continuation of the story and expansion on Hellboy's seemingly endless Universe. I cant wait until the next one.
