Plunge into the dystopian world one hundred years in the future, where human-like "Emulation Constructs" fight to enjoy the same rights as their human creators, where the vast majority of the world's human population struggles to eke out an existence in a hostile landscape, and where both sides are victim to corporate whim and the deadly effects of a manmade plague. Collecting the first four issues of the series. A ground-up re-imagining of the original Lone Wolf and Cub manga, this series is being done in association with, and under the watchful eye of Kazuo Koike, the writer and co-creator of Lone Wolf and Cub.

Great book. Never read the original but took a chance and ordered the first 3 of this new series. Didn't disappoint.

Ok, I'll admit a little secret to you... I've never been a fan of Francisco Ruiz Velasco. Well, not really. I thought his artwork in "Battlegods" was all flash and no substance. And I know I was SUPPOSED to be impressed, but sometimes the more you're expected to feel a certain way, the more you don't... y'know what I mean? Anyway, here's Velasco again doing the covers and interior art for LW 2100 (the sequel to Japan's enormously popular "Lone Wolf and Cub" series), and I have to tell you... this stuff is magnificent. And the inking and coloring are second to none! Ok, so now I'm changing my mind.... I mean, the images in this book are simply fantastic, and Velasco's style is improving with each issue -- you can literally see his work evolving for the better. For really good sci-fi mixed with a dose of manga-style ninja cool, you've gotta check this series out!

Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima's Lone Wolf and Cub is one of the best, and best realized, comics series ever. And now Dark Horse is doing us all the favor of collecting every LWC story in a handy low-priced format. Catch this amazing series while there's still time.
