When first-year high school student Miharu Ogawa gets a call from her parents, telling her to come straight home from school, she prepares herself for the worst. After all, the last time her quirky restaurateur parents told her to come straight home she ended up as a contestant on a kiddy game show! But nothing she could ever have imagined could have prepared her for their "great news". . . Miharu is getting married! How's a spirited and independent teenager who has never even kissed a boy supposed to deal with suddenly having a fiancÚ she's never even met? And how will her feelings change when she finds out that there are other boys out there vying for her affection, and other girls ready and willing to take away the man she's not even sure she's ready for? With her family, friends, (and enemies!) to cope with, will Miharu even have the time to find out if the handsome, devoted Kazuo Fujiwara is really the man she is meant to be with, the man connected to her by the red string of destiny?

Inspired by Japanese shoujo manga and anime, Gina has been writing comics for over seven years.

This comic has been my favorite and probably will always be my favorite!!

  • Jan 06, 2008 Michael from NY

A good story, and the quality of the book itself was very good.

  • May 18, 2007 Kristina from Hawaii

While it's easy to just forget about buying this book since you can view the series for free online, it's just too much of a wonderful story to not include in my personal library. I've been a fan for awhile, and I plan on buying any future books released!

  • Apr 27, 2007 Marissa from Las Vegas, NV

I absolutely love this story. Every time I start reading it, I have to finish it in the same sitting. Great quality overall!

  • Mar 20, 2007 LingShiao from California

I've been following this webcomic since the very beginning, and I love how Gina's art style has subtley changed and improved! In the newer chapters, the art flows much better, and the characters are drawn consistently well. Plotwise, it isn't incredibly groundbreaking, but better than a lot of the shallow hogwash in bookstores right now. Unlike a lot of the soap-opera shojo that's so popular, Red String has a heart, sort of reminiscent of Kare Kano.

I luuuurve this comic! I've been a fan for about a year now and I check the website everyday, even though I know it doesn't update that day. That's how much I love it. GO MIHARU!!

  • Mar 13, 2007 Kira from Canada

I really enjoy Red String. I read it on line, but purchased it in print form just because it was so much more easy to read that way. Now I can curl up with my cat and enjoy it! I can't wait for future volumes, it will be fun to watch Gina's art evolve. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a fun shoujo read.

  • Mar 07, 2007 A Reader from London, England

I can't recommend this product. The artwork is amateurish and very manga-derivative without showing any real creativity. Characters are cliche and cookie-cutter. This will only appeal to girls who are frightened at the thought of having to talk to guys themselves. If you've got to read it, read it online.

  • Feb 23, 2007 Mady from Indiana

I love this comic. Someone linked this to me yesterday, and I spent two hours reading it. It's *so* addicting. Mady

  • Feb 19, 2007 Arec from Illinois

I have been reading this manga since the very beginning and I cannot stress what an amazing manga it is. The art is gorgeous and the plot is spectacular that will keep you begging for more. You couldn't ask for a more enthralling shoujo to read and I would recommend to anyone who likes shoujos!

  • Sep 05, 2006 windguaerd from Florida

I've enjoyed reading Red String from Chapter 1 to the current Chapter 19 and I highly recommend buying this Print Volume!

  • Aug 15, 2006 Grace from UK

Red String is an awesome webcomic and I will be buying it when it comes out in print! It is really the most well researched webmanga I've read and that gives it a really shoujo feeling and shows how much the author respects the nation of Japan. Boy is TokyoPop going to regret rejecting this when it was entered in RoSM!!!
