The frantic Forties - a time when the comic book industry was young and anything was possible. An overnight sensation when he debuted in Pep Comics#22 in December of '41, Archie soon found himself starring in a number of other comics titles including Jackpot, Laughand the self-titled Archi Comics. Filled with outrageous tales of dating woes, high school hijinx and slapstick mayhem, it wasn't long before Archie became known as "the Mirth of the Nation."
