  • What Are Pre-Orders?

    Pre-Orders are products that haven't been released yet, but that we can still special order for you. Pre-orders are sometimes referred to as "advance orders". When you place a pre-order, we put the order on your pending pre-orders list and then ship it to you based on when its release date coincides with your pre-order shipping schedule. Please allow 1-3 business days for order processing.

    IMPORTANT! Please note:
    *All Pre-Order sales are final and cannot be cancelled once the FOC (Final Order Cutoff) date has passed.
    *Images displayed for pre-orders may not be final art, and may be subject to change
    *Sometimes pre-order items are late and do not meet the release dates we have posted on our webpages. This is beyond our control, and we will update our webpages with the new release dates if/when we are supplied new release dates from the item manufacturer or our distributor.
  • Pre-Order/Backorder Shipping Frequency

    One of the features of our Pre-order system is the Shipping Frequency menu. This allows you to choose having your Pre-Orders shipped every 1, 2, or 4 weeks. This is very convenient for subscription holders since by selecting "Every 4 weeks" you can have an entire month of comics sent to you in one shipment. Unfortunately this feature is only applicable to Pre-Orders and Backorders. In-Stock items will be shipped once the order has been received by the warehouse, usually within 1-3 business days of ordering. When you initiate a Pre-Order shipping frequency, the first item to become available(or items if more than one item arrives the first week) is shipped out when it arrives. Your next shipment will then be sent based on the shipping frequency you chose, and any items that arrive after that will be shipped together, following your frequency and schedule. Again, this is for pre-order and back order items and does not apply to In-Stock items.

    In the event that your order is due to be shipped on a holiday, it will be shipped the next business day after the holiday (except on weekends).

  • Pre-Order Shipping Method

    Before you are able to pre-order items or set up subscriptions in your account you must first set up your Pre-Order Shipping Options. These options will determine which shipping method we use to send your pre-order shipments to you. The options are:

    Cheapest - This is usually the best option to choose unless you can't accept deliveries from your country's postal service. We will send your shipment using the cheapest postal method possible.

    Cheapest Insured - This option will process your shipment with the cheapest available shipping option that provides insurance and tracking.

    Insured with UPS - This option can be selected to guarantee your shipment is sent through UPS, and includes tracking and insurance.  (UPS options not available to PO Box customers)

    Two Day Shipping - This is an expensive option and should only be used if you want insurance and tracking and to receive the shipment in 2 days.

    Fastest - This is the most expensive option and should only be used if you want insurance and tracking and want to receive your shipment within 1 day.

    ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: IMPORTANT! If you choose "Insured with UPS", "Two Day" or "Fastest", your shipments will be sent via UPS Worldwide Express which is typically rather expensive and is NOT recommended for orders under $200 USD!

  • Pre-order Confirmation 

    You can check what items you have on pre-order at any time by going to the  MY PRE-ORDERS  section of your account! You can also remove pending pre-orders on this page up until the FOC (Final Order Cutoff) date for each item.

    You will be alerted by e-mail once has shipped any pre-order item(s) to you.

  • Pre-order Payment Options

    We accept credit cards, debit, and reloadable gift cards for pre-orders. When placing a pre-order, you'll be asked to enter your card information, however we WILL NOT charge your credit/debit card at that time. At the time the pre-order is made, we do check with your card company/bank to verify that your card is valid (as a form of fraud protection) but we will not actually charge your card until your product(s) are ready to ship. We will keep your information on file on our secure server and charge your card once we receive and ship your item(s).

  • Why Can't I Pre-order Anything?

    If your credit card generates a decline due to being over your credit-limit or being past the expiration date, we will attempt to contact you via email about the order. If you do not update your "Default Pre-Order Credit Card" information with a valid card soon after we contact you, it may result in multiple credit card declines. After three (3) consecutive pre-order credit card declines, your account will turn into an "In-Stock Only" account until you bring your account into good standing.

  • Combining orders

    People often ask us to hold in-stock items until their pre-orders/backorders are available and send them all at once to save on shipping and handling charges. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer this service. Our pre-order/backorder system is automated and separate from our regular in-stock system, therefore we are not able to combine pre-orders or backorders with regular orders.

  • Why Can't I Cancel a Pre-Order?

    When you pre-order an item, you are authorizing TFAW to special order an item for you and charge your credit card when it arrives in stock. Placing a preorder is committing to purchasing that item as any pre-order items must be special ordered and locked in with our distributor specifically on your behalf.  Pre-order items can be removed from your account up until the FOC (final order cutoff) date, however after that time the order is locked in with our distributor and cannot be cancelled.  If an item is still eligible for cancellation you can remove it from your account yourself by clicking the "Remove" button next to the item in question on the  MY PRE-ORDERS section of your account.  Once the FOC date has passed for the particular item this option will no longer be visible, and cancellations can no longer be processed.

  • Shipment Schedule/Multiple Shipments

    Your credit card will be charged for each shipment we send to you. Shipping/handling charges may vary. The estimates we provide for pre-orders is based on the assumption that all of your items will be received and shipped on their scheduled release dates. This amount will most likely change if you choose to get your shipments every 1 week or 2 weeks and your items arrive in different weeks during the month, because in that case you will be receiving multiple shipments. Even if you have a 4 week ship schedule, it will also change if your items don't all arrive within the same 4 weeks, which would also result in multiple shipments.

  • Special Offers

    Pre-orders are unfortunately not eligible for free shipping promotions, discount coupons, or gift certificate codes.

  • Prices, Availability & Cover Images

    Prices are subject to change. We receive our information directly from Diamond Comic Distributors, but there have been cases when the actual price of the item is different from the price at which it was solicited due to an incorrect solicitation, publisher price change, or system error. will notify customers via e-mail when there is a price discrepancy, and customers will be offered the chance to cancel without penalty if the change in price impacts your desire to purchase the item.

    Due to the tentative nature of pre-orders, all release dates listed are subject to change and CANNOT be guaranteed. In the event of any delays we will attempt to get updated release information, and will get that information updated on our site for your records as soon as updates are received. From time to time, items will become available before or after the publicized on-sale date. Allocations (publisher shortages) or damages may also occur causing a slight delay in the arrival of an item. We immediately report these issues to our distributor for replacement copies, however this does unfortunately delay when a pre-order item can be shipped out to you.  Delayed items will be added to your next scheduled pre-order shipment once they arrive to us based on your selected pre-order shipping frequency selected.  On occasion, an order might be canceled. When this occurs, will notify you. If an item is canceled and re-solicited at a later date, you will need to re-order it through the pre-order system.

    Please be aware that all images displayed may be subject to change and CANNOT be guaranteed. The images displayed for items on our site are provided to us by our distributor at the time the item is solicited for sale, and may not be the final artwork released for the item. Additionally, on occasion the cover artists for a particular issue may be changed by the publisher after being solicited. We will update our records with the appropriate information once we are informed of any changes however. Since issues are sold by the publisher based on an item code, rather than the publisher guaranteeing a specific cover image or artist, we unfortunately cannot guarantee cover images or cover artists on pre-order items.
